The Golden Age by playwright A.R. Gurney will be read by local actors. This work is a 3-character play, adapted by A.R. Gurney from a story by Henry James ('The Aspern Papers'). It revolves around a young writer's effort to get some long-lost manuscripts from an old woman who allegedly knew 'everyone' during the so-called Golden Age of the Roaring '20s. The young writer has some lessons to learn about what's important in life, about where the drive for success ends and the values of humanity begin. The performance is directed by Myron Gubitz of West Hartford. |
