WLA - Stay at Home in Wilton: Introductory Meeting
Monday October 5, 2009
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Rimer Room

Wilton is about to get a new source of support for senior citizens!  Help is on the way to replace that burned-out light bulb; there are going to be many more opportunities to socialize with your friends; you will be able to get a ride when needed to wherever you want to go; you will get help finding a great contractor to fix things up; plus you will have ready access to any necessary medical support.

Come hear about the plans on Monday, October 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Wilton Library Rimer Room on the second floor to make these plans happen  A group of interested Wilton seniors has been working with support from 'Staying Put in New Canaan' to bring to fruition 'Stay at Home in Wilton'.  This organization plans to be incorporated as a non-profit charity focused on creating a super-friendly environment where Wilton seniors can enjoy their lives with less worries, and more chances to get out of the house and socialize with their friends.  This will be built on the existing service and support functions already available in Wilton, but expanded with many more opportunities to enjoy living in town.  And all this will be only a phone call away -- every day, all year round.

The folks spearheading this effort are Anne and Phil Richards, Chris and Ken Dartley, Kay Chann, Jacki and Ron Gulick, Barbara Quincy, Sally Poundstone, Sonja and Don Drummond, and Joan Starr.  The group has met to set the wheels turning, and plan to have much more information at the Oct. 5th meeting.  Prior to that, drop by the booth at the Senior Community Day at Cider Mill School on Sept. 20th from 12:00 to 3:00 for further details.  See the web site for the most current material at www.stayathomeinwilton.org

No charge.  Registration encouraged. To register, please call 203-762-3950 or visit www.wiltonlibrary.org/events.  Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Road, Wilton.
