Dr. Newcombe will talk about his unique experiences as a doctor in Korea during the armistice period in 1957. Part 2 will include the changes in military procedures brought about by the prisoner-of-war uprising at Koje-do, U.S. POWs, including General Trapnell's World War II Bataan experience, and whether 1954-1992 statistics on infiltration from the North offer suggestions for Guantanamo Bay or the War on Terror. Dr. Newcombe is a graduate of Roxbury Latin School and Amherst College. He also holds a medical degree from McGill University. He served in Korea as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. **Another reminder: 1st Lieutenant Rajiv Srinivasan, Platoon Leader in the Fifth Stryker Brigade, serving in Afghanistan, has an outstanding blog, in which he updates approximately weekly.
