Dr. Newcombe will talk about his unique experiences as a doctor in Korea during the armistice period in 1957. Part 2 will include the changes in military procedures brought about by the prisoner-of-war uprising at Koje-do, U.S. POWs, including General Trapnell's World War II Bataan experience, and whether 1954-1992 statistics on infiltration from the North offer suggestions for Guantanamo Bay or the War on Terror. Dr. Newcombe is a graduate of Roxbury Latin School and Amherst College. He also holds a medical degree from McGill University. He served in Korea as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. **Another reminder: 1st Lieutenant Rajiv Srinivasan, Platoon Leader in the Fifth Stryker Brigade, serving in Afghanistan, has an outstanding blog, in which he updates approximately weekly. We will train you. Orientation will be on January 19th from 10:00 - 12:00.
