Born in Saudi Arabi, Ms. Arshad later lived in Pakistan and attended school there for several years, before coming to the United States where she graduated from Rutgers State University. Mr. Rechsteiner brings to life his early years growing up in Freudenberg, Switzerland in the 1930s as he sets the stage for his memoir, which his sons asked him to write.
