Join us this summer in a creative writing group for teens. Teens will learn about the writing process through a variety of writing prompts and art activities. Teens will create their own characters, write their own stories and participate in fun prompts to help them get the creativity going. Come join the fun and see what you can create through writing and art. This drop-in group for kids in grades 4 and up will meet from 4-5 on Thursday July 8 and 24 and on Thursday, August 5 and 19. Please note, the meeting on August 26 will be held in Reading Room 3.

Adding to the pleasure is an activity that more and more people are discovering – letter boxing. Following clues that lead you to a hidden “letterbox”, in which you’ll find an inkpad and pad to mark with your own personal stamp. Our vegetable garden, now planted and thriving under the summer sun, still needs some attention. Weeds need to be pulled, plants need restaking and cleaning up and, best of all, vegetables need to be picked. Join us as we spend time taking care of and enjoying the benefits of our summer vegetable garden.

Meet Rocky the Rock Cat! A fun baseball craft and baseball stories will be included. Bring your camera, Rocky will pose for photos!

The Russell Library is going to rock. Bob Bloom is bringing a huge array of shake, rattle, and roll instruments for everyone in the room to use to turn on the ignition for the catchiest boogie and funk tunes that Middletown Connecticut will ever hear. BB leads hands-on drumming hoots from The First Night Celebrations of Hartford and Boston to The Sioux City ArtSplash.
