Sunday, September 19 2:00PM-4:00PM Community Room	China Stories! Living and Learning in China! Christopher Alesevich shares a hands-on presentation about living in China and learning Chinese. All are welcome to come listen and participate, including adults and kids of all ages. € See pictures of what it's like to live and travel in China and laugh at stories of adventure. € Discover convenient ways to learn to write Chinese characters and speak a number of Chinese phrases. € Interact LIVE with a native Chinese teacher in Beijing. Mr. Alesevich grew up in Shelton and earned a BA in International Relations from the University of Southern California. Fluent in Chinese, he then studied at Beijing University and in Shanghai. After that, Christopher worked in Shanghai, at a Chinese state-owned company in Beijing, and traveled widely. Saturday, September 25 7:00PM-9:00PM Community Room	What's Up Our Sleeve? A Magic Show Fundraiser! Trumbull Library System and the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) Ring 59 present a Magic Show for all ages at the Main Library! These local professional magicians will perform illusions, mentalism, and comedy magic from around the world including some of the classics of magic. Proceeds will benefit IBM local Ring 59 and the Trumbull Library System. Tickets are available at the Information Desk at the Main Library. To get tickets come to the the library and buy them in person, or call and reserve over the phone. You will be able to pick up the latter at a 'will call' table the night of the performance. Prices: $10 for Child; $12 for Adult; $30 for Family of Four (or more). About the performers: The International Brotherhood of Magicians is the world's largest organization for magicians and people interested in the magical arts.
