
Library Resource Management
rm.Insight provides Resource Management specifically designed for the needs of public libraries of all sizes. Resources
are defined as rooms, equipment, event and program information, registration lists, attendance statistics and much more.
rm.Insight provides, among other things, a method by which staff can determine meeting
room availability, schedule events in rooms or outside locations, note
set-up requirements, equipment needs and select up to six different
calendars on which to publish the events. Rooms and
equipment are managed so as to prevent double committing of
resources.
Events can be configured to require a Sign Up (registration)
via the public web calendar. Sign Up can be simply a
name, email and telephone number or the system can require a valid
library card with authentication using your ILS patron database.
Capacity limits and wait list management is also part of the
system. Automatic reminder emails can be sent to patrons.
Icons, graphics and book jacket images, with
catalog ties, can be used to visually enhance the calendars.
rm.Insight provides a comprehensive patron room booking feature
where patrons can request meeting space via the web. The system can be configured to require library card
entry and several other pieces of information for room booking, and require staff approval of any booking requests submitted. The system fully protects
the integrity of the room use, preventing double committing of facilities.
The
rm.Insight Marquee feature provides the ability to integrate
event and program information with your web site's home page. Key Event and program information is dynamically
displayed on your home page with fonts, colors and style consistent with the rest of your web site.
A specific area of your web site's home page can be dedicated to any combination of three types of calendar
events with a one time configuration. For example, Today's Events can be configured to display on your
home page in a specific area with just the Event name, or include the room, time, event detail, book jackets
or icons. If the event has
a
Sign Up requirement patrons will be able to sign up directly from your home page, without having
to find the event on the full calendar display.
A
Marquee Event is any event that is considered
important enough to be placed on your web site's home page for maximum public exposure. There can be any number of
Marquee Events displayed in a scrollable window on the home page. Links to Sign Up will be available
for these Marquee Events. The amount of information and size of the screen area is configurable as well.
The benefit of using the
Marquee feature is that your web site home page does not have
to be changed each time a new event requires home page exposure.
