WebBooks Group Manager
WebBook Group Module, wb.Insight, provides a comprehensive system which allows the staff to define, configure, manage, and maintain web based groupings of books, represented by their cover art, author and title, with a link to the items catalog record.
wb.Insight is an easy way to create and display groups of titles, using book jacket images, author and title on your web site in any grouping desired. For example, the grouping can be related to new purchases such as New Adult Fiction or New YA Sci Fi. Also, titles can be grouped in topical groups, just the way you would create a display of books in the library, such as books on the Olympics or Thanksgiving. Additionally, books with a common theme can be created. For the Children's portion of your web site, Groups of books about Fire Engines or Princesses can be easily created.
Groups of titles can be entered into the system by uploading MARC records or entering the title, author and ISBN manually or using a comma delimited file format. MARC records from your vendors can be directly imported into a WebBook Group and displayed on your Web Site without any additional effort.
Each title can have up to three links into your web based catalog. When a patron clicks on the book jacket image, the catalog entry is displayed in a pop up window. If an author's name is clicked, it will show all the items in your collection by that author. By clicking the title, all the items in your collection are displayed with the same or similar title.
Titles that are entered will automatically be removed from the list after a predetermined period of time without any staff intervention. As new titles are added to a group, they are displayed at the top of the group.
Topical WebBook Groups can be created well before they are to be displayed on your Web Site. A start date and a remove date can be configured so WebBooks can be placed on and removed from your Web Site based on predetermined time frames without staff intervention
